Irene Westerbeek (1984) is the curator and founder of the Cool Collector. Irene graduated in 2010 cum laud in Lifestyle and Design at the Willem de Kooning academy in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Where she specialized herself in forecasting and creative marketing.
In that same year she won the TWOTY award (Trend Watcher Of The Year Awards) in the category upcoming talent. Her graduation project the Cool Collector was also nominated for the Dutch design prizes: De Maaskantprijs and De Drempelprijs.
At the moment she lives and works in Rotterdam, the Netherlands as a freelance trend- and concept designer. Irene analyzes the collected information of the Cool Collector and develops inspiring custom made trend presentations about youngsters and Cool Culture for companies and organizations.
Irene also delivers trend research to several magazines and is a often requested trend guest-teacher in several schools in the Netherlands.
